In place of 'normal' monthly meetings, the club stages 'Live Events'. These usually take the form of 'film in an evening' where we attempt to make a short film in a two to three hour session.
For many (myself included), Live Events form the most enjoyable and exciting elements of the regular club calendar. The constraints of having to make a film in a very short time, with limited facilities, and a troupe of actors made up entirely of club members, creates a challenge that often results in interesting and entertaining short films.
The process is almost universally enjoyable and we make an effort to involve as many present as possible. These events have allowed us to experiment with technologies such as green screen and to try out alternative and experimental techniques.
